Each rotation will fully integrate graduates into nuclear agencies (internal & external) and multiple disciplinary streams to help graduates meet their full potential, identify a preferred nuclear career pathway and provide unique learning and career progression opportunities.
The ASA Nuclear Graduate Program provides graduates opportunities to develop into trusted and efficient ASA Technical or Policy Corporate officers through our pathways.
STEM (Technical) Pathway
STEM (Technical) Pathway graduates will complete three six month rotations, bringing knowledge and technical skills from the following disciplines:
- Science , (in nuclear, materials, computer, physical, radiological, biological, environmental, medicine, physics);
- Technology (Data Sciences)
- Engineering, including (mechanical, electrical, chemical, systems, maritime, aeronautical, mechatronics & naval architecture);
- Mathematics
- Cyber Security
Two rotations will be within ASA and one rotation will be within the broader nuclear ecosystem, and may include rotations in:
- The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO)
- The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA)
- Australian Radioactive Waste Agency (ARWA)
- Key industry partners.
STEM (Technical) Graduates will commence the program at the APS 4 classification, building essential skills and valuable knowledge from day one. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will step into an operational role within the ASA, unlocking a broad range of experience and exposure that will elevate their technical career opportunities filled with growth, impact and success.
Policy and Corporate Pathway
Graduates with a background across a variety of Policy and Corporate disciplines are presented with a unique opportunity to support enabling functions of the Australian Submarine Agency by leveraging their specialised skills through diverse experiences within a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment.
Policy and Corporate Pathway Graduates will complete two six month rotations, and will bring a wealth of knowledge from disciplines including:
- Policy
- Human Resources
- Law
- International Relations
- Cyber Security
- Finance and Accounting
- Logistics and Supply Chain
- Procurement
- Project Management
- Business Commerce
Policy and Corporate Graduates will commence the program at the APS 4 classification, building essential skills and valuable knowledge from day one.
